Bruno

copy brunoOur city presented a Renaissance Festival over the weekend at our Zoo for a fundraiser.  While the festival was wonderful, Bruno seems to have taken center stage!  I snapped this photo while he was enjoying his pool.  He looked so relaxed and peaceful.  Bruno is a rescued grizzly bear, placed in the zoo several years ago.  It’s easy to see why he is a favorite!  I enjoyed adding a quote to the photo.

Close to my Heart

While hiking recently in Idaho, we came across a heart tree. A lovely old tree where visitors placed heart-shaped rocks. We searched for heart-shaped rocks along our hike, placing them at the tree on our return. We visited with other hikers at the heart tree, it felt like a peaceful, loving place along this beautiful hike.

I always look for heart shapes in my life, especially while I’m hiking. It is surprising how many heart shapes surround us every day. Sometimes, in our lives, we forget to ease our pace and see the beauty of our surroundings.  Wishing everyone a heartfelt day and the surprise of finding a heart shape!copy heart

Veil of Peacefulness

A veil of peacefulness has entered my art studio in the last two days.  I’ve been able to conquer the fear, chase it away and complete my still life painting.  It feels so wonderful to sit back and view the still life.  This challenge behind me I may have to celebrate with a nice glass of wine, sit in the studio and simply enjoy!

This is the quote in the painting:

Choice of attention – to pay attention to this and ignore that – is to the inner life what choices of action is to the outer.  In both cases, a man is responsible for his choice and must accept the consequences.      – W. H. Auden –

Have a wonderful, peaceful day!
