Creating in the studio, preparing for a Miniature Show on Saturday at one of the little galleries that sells my art. I’ve made several items but these mini framed hearts are a favorite! Each is a different shaped heart with expressions of words.
If you are local please stop at Bailiwick on Grand to see the lovely Miniature Show. There are several very talented artists displayed. It will be fun!

Completing three Happy Hangers. These three will be heading over to the gallery tomorrow for the Holiday Open House on Friday. I waited until the last-minute and will be working this evening on the last touches of the other two. Hope your evening is full of creativity. I’ll enjoy finishing these pieces.

Today I finished this piece, Heart Hugs. Several months ago I had done a piece with a flower grouping. Never, never liked it. I came across that piece over the weekend. Covering it with gesso and starting over, this is the result. So much happier with it. I’ve found in the past that people love art with hearts. Since the holidays are approaching I’m planning to create a few more heart pieces.

That time is nearing, the holidays! I am beginning to work on my snowman collection. I will be placing most of these pieces in the two galleries that represent my work locally. Hoping for an opportunity to place some of my pieces in another shop outside of my home city. I am working on some pieces to submit for review. Keeping my fingers crossed that they will like my work. Another venue for people to see my art. It’s a constant effort putting myself out there but so worth it. I will be posting more of my snowman collection as I finish the pieces. I’ve stared for a couple of days at these four canvases with backgrounds finished. A bit of creative spirit rose early today! With my coffee in hand I spent the morning in my home studio. Three years ago my Mom passed away, the last couple days I’ve not been able to stop the memories swirling in my mind. This piece reflects some of what I’ve felt and simply some of what I love in art. I’ve always enjoyed painting hearts with wings. When I began the piece I thought it was just another subject that I enjoy. After finishing the piece it felt more like my Mom earned her well deserved wings and was singing her way into heaven! It always intrigue’s me, the thought process of my art. When I do a background I never know what I will paint on the canvas, what message I want to get across…most often than not, it is best for me to just let it flow! Enjoy each day. Find your wings and soar with a song in your heart. Make your dreams come true!

While hiking recently in Idaho, we came across a heart tree. A lovely old tree where visitors placed heart-shaped rocks. We searched for heart-shaped rocks along our hike, placing them at the tree on our return. We visited with other hikers at the heart tree, it felt like a peaceful, loving place along this beautiful hike.
I always look for heart shapes in my life, especially while I’m hiking. It is surprising how many heart shapes surround us every day. Sometimes, in our lives, we forget to ease our pace and see the beauty of our surroundings. Wishing everyone a heartfelt day and the surprise of finding a heart shape!
This piece is one of three commissioned works I just completed and delivered. The Angel in particular is special to the buyer. It was a piece that I felt deeply about as all the elements she wanted in the piece just flowed together…it is comforting to me when the piece is so well received as the buyer became emotional when she opened it. This is one of many reasons I do art. When a buyer loves the piece it makes my world rock!!
A new piece for my Collection of Girls. Hot outside so I’ve retreated to my art studio the last couple days. Love being outdoors but finishing this piece really felt good! This piece is for sale. The words are “Before the rising sun, we fly; so many roads to choose”. Starting two smaller pieces as well and will post when completed.

Dream is on card stock and I am printing her out in card form presently. She will be joining my other pieces from my Collection of Girls…one day, no doubt, on a canvas.

This piece changed my thinking on perfection!! I used several different textures of paper on the background. When I began to paint the girl the papers absorbed the acrylics and watercolours, creating some imperfections. I left it overnight and returned to work it over today. After looking at it I realized I didn’t want to change it but rather felt like embracing imperfection…which is a stretch sometimes for me! I’m feeling like my inner self is finally beginning to let go of some of the restrictions I place on myself.
