Childhood Memories

This little sketch done with watercolour pencils, pen, acrylics is a special piece representing my childhood home.  The border and words are from a magazine that was in my parents vintage collection.  I use these magazines sparingly as they date back to the early 1900’s.  Both my parents are gone so this piece will stay in my private collection.

How does your art reflect your childhood?

Wooly Friends

Wanting to try something outside of my usual mixed-media subjects.

My childhood memories are always drawn back to the days my siblings and I spent at our grandparents ranch.  My grandmother patiently allowed us to feed the bum lambs.  I’m still crazy over lambs and basically all animals.  I believe it’s partially do to the influence of those early days on the ranch.

I’m still working on these little woolies but wanted to share this pair.  And yes, the grass is not always greener on the other side!
