Care Cube

I’ve created several of these mini boxes in various sizes.  I call them my Care Cubes.  I think of the little boxes as a pick-me-up for someone who might need a hug.  Or a small gift to show someone how much you care about them.  This one is going to the gallery today, hoping they will accept it as I’d love to make more.  The Care Cubes always have a theme.  This one is about sweethearts or lovers keeping that special connection.   Each has a recycled piece on the top.  This one has an old button, a ring that says love around it, topped with an old button with a little faux pearl in its center.  These pieces I usually grab out of my collection of buttons that I inherited from my grandmother.

Thank you for visiting my blog…Happy Halloween!

Buttons and Tweed

This painting I just finished last week and gifted it to my wonderfully talented daughter.  She launched her handmade specialty bag business in 2013 called Buttons and Tweed.  The bag business along with everything else happening in her life; moving closer to us (which we love!), she started a new position in her career and just purchased a new condo!  The painting is for her home studio.  We are so very proud of all she has accomplished in the last nine months.copy tweed        Please visit her Buttons and Tweed blog and her facebook as well.  Her bags are presently represented in a local gallery as well as her nearly ready to go Etsy Shop.  Can you tell I’m pleased with it all…love her!
