Art Studio Addition

Last summer while in Oregon my sister and I shopped at several Goodwill Stores.  I came across this great set of drawers.  They needed a little update to fit in with the decor of my art studio.

Before the makeover…

This is the four “teddy bear” themed drawers.  I have to think that at one time it served as a cute little set of drawers in a baby’s room.  But the “Teds” had to go!

After shot of the drawers…

Here is the finished drawers.  I adhered four different fun papers to the fronts after removing the little knobs.  I painted over the sides with a funky green.  Also, ink-stained the sides of the drawers for a vintage look.

I wanted the top to look aged.  I placed tissue paper down first then used several layers of blue, yellow and metallic paints.  I pulled some of the tissue off.  I rubbed oil pastels into the edges as well to give it even more of a worn look.  The knobs are one of my favorite additions to my new vintage drawers.
